Quality begins at the roots. We use advanced propagation techniques to ensure every Jesse's Mossy Plants plant starts with a strong, healthy foundation before it ever reaches your home.
At Jesse's Mossy Plants, we believe that every leaf tells a story. What started as a personal passion for greenery has grown into a mission to share the highest quality plants in our community. We don't belive in mass-produced, "big box" plants that struggle to surive the trip home. Instead, we focus on small-batch cultivation and individualized care.

Quality begins at the roots. We use advanced propagation techniques to ensure every Jesse's Mossy Plants plant starts with a strong, healthy foundation before it ever reaches your home.

We transition our cuttings into a specialized Sphagnum moss medium to prepare them for their forever homes. This critical stage focuses on 'hardening off' the root system.

The final stage of the Jesse's Mossy Plants process is the transition to a permanent, high-porosity substrate. Once the cuttings have developed a complex architecture of secondary lateral roots in the moss, they are potted into a professional-grade nursery mix designed for long-term health.
We recommend a slow, even watering once per week. Continue until you see water beginning to exit the drainage holes; this ensures the deep secondary roots developed in our nursery are receiving the consistent moisture they need to thrive.
Position your plant 12 to 24 inches from a window, adjusting for the direction of the sun throughout the day. Because every species has different needs, check if yours prefers bright indirect light (filtered) or direct sunlight. This careful placement ensures the vibrant colors and strength we’ve nurtured in our nursery continue to thrive in your home.
To maintain vibrant foliage and steady growth, we recommend a consistent feeding schedule using a high-quality fertilizer like SuperThrive Foliage Pro. We apply this at half-strength every week—this 'low and slow' approach provides a steady stream of nutrients while leaving a safe margin for error. To keep the root environment healthy, it is vital to flush the substrate with plain, room-temperature water once a month. This simple step washes away any residual mineral salts, ensuring the soil remains balanced and your plant stays thriving.
Unlike typical houseplants, carnivorous species require a specific hydration strategy to mimic their natural bog environments. We recommend using the 'Tray Method': place your plant's pot in a shallow saucer filled with one inch of distilled, reverse osmosis, or rainwater. Avoid tap or spring water, as the mineral salts and chlorine can be toxic to their sensitive root systems. By maintaining a constant, pure moisture level, you support the plant's unique biology and ensure it has the strength to thrive in your care.

While these plants love to 'hunt,' a little boost helps them truly thrive. We use a very weak mix of Maxsea fertilizer (just 1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon per gallon of distilled water). Using a syringe, place one single drop on only half of the plant's active traps every two to four weeks. Feeding only half the leaves at a time prevents the plant from getting overwhelmed and keeps it growing strong. Since younger plants are extra sensitive, check a Species-Specific Fertilization Chart for your specific variety.
We don’t just sell plants; we share the results of our scientific curiosity and daily care. Every cutting that leaves our nursery is a piece of the passion we have for the natural world. Thank you for choosing to grow your indoor jungle with us and for giving our plants a place to thrive.
